Neer means water and mor means buttermilk. Neer mor is a perfect summer recipe and also made on the occasion of Shri Ram Navami. It’s a coolant to our body and must be consumed daily for a cool and healthy body.
Ingredients
Curd – 1 cup
Water – 2 glasses or as required for dilution
Ginger – 1/2 inch
Curry leaves – few
Coriander leaves – few
Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
Salt – as per taste
Asafoetida – a pinch
Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
Oil – 1/2 tsp
Method
1. Crush the ginger, curry leaves and coriander leaves and set aside.
2. Beat the curd and add sufficient water and mix It with the ginger, curry leaf and coriander mixture. Add salt.
3. In a tempering pan add oil, hing, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and allow it to splutter. Add this to the buttermilk. Refreshing buttermilk is now ready to be served. Serve chilled.
