Ragi Dosa

A very healthy option to start your day. Ragi or nachini is a powerhouse of vital nutrients and provides various health benefits for all age groups. Including millets in any form is good for health. So why not try this easy recipe.

Ingredients

Ragi – 1 cup ( whole ragi or flour, I have used ragi flour)

Udad dal – 1/4 cup

Idli rice or par boiled rice – 1/4 cup

Fenugreek seeds – 1/2 tsp

Salt – as per taste

Water – for soaking and grinding

Method

1. Wash the udad dal and rice well and soak both of them for 4 hours along with fenugreek seeds. If you are using ragi seeds then wash and soak them also for 4 hours. You can soak everything together.

2. Drain the water and add the rice and udad dal along with the fenugreek seeds to a blender. Use the same water for grinding in which they were soaked. If using ragi seeds the grind ragi also . Slowly add water and grind to a smooth paste.

3. Once the paste is ready add this to the ragi flour (if using ragi flour, else your batter is ready). Add salt and mix well with clean hands. Cover and allow to ferment for 6-8 hours.

4. Once well fermented add water as required and pour into dosas. Serve with your favorite chutney.
